In September 2000, Telstra awarded the Siemens Thiess Communications Joint Venture (STCJV) two Access Network Commercial Contracting Service (ANCCS) contracts, for Sydney South West and Campbelltown areas and for all of Queensland Country.
Under these contracts, STCJV has been responsible for providing infrastructure maintenance and upgrades to existing Telstra copper and optic fibre networks. It also covered the installation of telephone and other services such as cable TV into residential and commercial premises. In essence, Thiess and Siemens are involved in the “last mile” installations on behalf of Telstra.
