Airport Link Operations and Maintenance

Description:  

Thiess Services is part of the BrisConnections consortium, which was awarded the contract to design, construct, operate and maintain Australia's largest infrastructure project - Brisbane's Airport Link. The 6.7 kilometre toll road will connect the Clem Jones Tunnel, Inner City Bypass and local road network at Bowen Hills to the northern arterials Gympie Road and Stafford Road at Kedron, Sandgate Road and the East West Arterial leading to the airport.

A joint venture of Thiess Services and John Holland Services will undertake 24-hour, 7-day operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Airport Link toll road when construction is completed. The O&M services include:
  • management of traffic operations and incident response, including, clearing obstructions to traffic and coordination with other traffic management agencies and emergency services as necessary
  • continuous monitoring of tunnel air quality and control of ventilation to ensure the tunnel is a safe environment for motorists
  • maintenance of the Airport Link tunnels, bridges, roadways and associated buildings, systems and equipment, including ventilation, drainage, communications, tolling, lighting and traffic control.
