Leighton Contractors were awarded a contract for the rollout of the mobile digital network. The scope of work involved site acquisition, gaining environmental approvals, engineering design and the construction of mobile base stations.

Since 1992, Leighton Contractors has undertaken over $620 million in telecommunications infrastructure contracts for the company, including fibre optic links between capital cities; construction of service centres, retails outlets, office and training facilities; and rollout of the aerial broadband cable network.
