Leighton Contractors was responsible for the design and construction of Sydney's Eastern Distributor, a six kilometre stretch of tollroad and tunnel, linking Sydney’s city centre with the airport and providing a link between the northern and eastern suburbs. 

Upon construction completion in 1999, eight months ahead of schedule, Leighton Contractors commenced the operation and maintenance contract which will run for approximately 48 years.
