
Leighton International has secured a tollroad contract in India in joint venture with Oriental Structural Engineers. The joint venture is responsible for the widening and upgrading of National Highway 3 from Indore to Khalghat in Madhya Radesh State.
The 76 kilometre highway requires 31 bridges, 13 underpasses and 154 minor structures including two major river bridges and one road-over-rail bridge. The 44 kilometre of new highway to be constructed as bypasses and realignment, and the 32 kilometre of widening, require excavation of over three million cubic metres of soft and hard rock.
