Projects

Kingsgrove to Revesby Rail Quadruplication

Client:  NSW Government
Location:  New South Wales
Start:  May 2007
Finish:  January 2013
Contract Type:  Alliance
Value:  $445 million (at 30 June 2011)
Description:

Leighton Contractors will team with the Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation, Maunsell Australia, Sinclair Knight Merz, MVM Rail and Union Switch & Signal to deliver the duplication of rail lines between Kingsgrove and Revesby stations.

The package of works to be delivered by the alliance team will involve the construction of:
  • two new rail lines (each 6.5 km long) between the two stations
  • ten new rail bridges
  • modifications to five existing bridges, and
  • a new overhead concourse and lift at Revesby station.

The additional tracks between Kingsgrove and Revesby will improve the reliability of the service by allowing a complete separation of slow and express services on the East Hills Line. Slow services will operate via the Airport and express services via Sydenham.
