Description:
Thiess was awarded the contract to undertake Stage 4 of the Redevelopment of Lavarack Barracks in Queensland. Lavarack Barracks is located on the southern edge of the city of Townsville, and is home to Third Brigade, a major land component of the Australian Defence Force.
The redevelopment included new facilities and refurbishment of existing infrastructure and construction of new buildings such as:
- office accommodation
- amenity and storage areas
- logistical, medical and training facilities
- plant and vehicle workshops
- transport compounds
- road and services infrastructure, and
- landscaping.
Thiess had previously delivered Stage 2 and Stage 3 of the Lavarack Barracks redevelopment.
