
This contract involved the construction of a new Coastal Defence Museum on the site of an old British military fort on the Lei Yue Mun headland in Hong Kong.
The project included civil engineering, building and historical restoration work and the completed museum is one of Hong Kong's major tourist attractions.
The contract included all site formation works, construction of an entrance block, services building and café as well as the renovation of an old fortress (redoubt).
Leighton was also responsible for the conservation of 16 historic relics along the existing access to the fortress and by the coastal frontage of the headland.
