Pacific Motorway Upgrade

Description:  
The scope of work involved Leighton Contractors upgrading a 12-km section of the motorway from four to eight lanes. This is the longest section of the six packages of work that makes up the 42-km upgrade of the Pacific Motorway, which had a total value of around $500 million.

The contract included the construction of:
  • 400,000 square metres of plain concrete pavement;
  • four grade separated interchanges with bridges spanning the motorway;
  • five other motorway bridges;
  • three major culverts; and,
  • eleven kilometres of service roads.
