Description:

The Southern Gateway Alliance, which included Leighton Contractors, WA Limestone and GHD Consulting, were awarded an alliance contract by the Western Australian Government to design and construct the new Perth to Bunbury Highway in partnership with Main Roads WA.

The Perth to Bunbury Highway project saw the construction of a 70.5km dual carriageway road constructed from the Kwinana Freeway Extension to Lake Clifton, providing a major strategic link to the growing Peel and South-West regions.

It was anticipated that the Perth to Bunbury Highway will significantly reduce delays and travel times between Safety Bay and Lake Clifton, in particular, during holiday periods through the Mandurah and Dawesville Peninsular urban areas.
