Description:

Leighton Contractors has signed an agreement with the Transport Infrastructure Development Corporation (TIDC) to create the Richmond Line Alliance which will deliver the Quakers Hill to Schofields rail duplication project in Sydney’s north-west.

The newly formed Richmond Line Alliance, which includes TIDC, Leighton Contractors, Maunsell AECOM, Sinclair Knight Merz, MVM Rail and Ansaldo STS, will design and construct over 3km of new railway track and associated station and rail systems upgrades between Quakers Hill and Schofields, as a key project in the NSW Government’s Rail Clearways Program.

Delivering the Quakers Hill to Schofields rail duplication project will help to address transport integration in Sydney’s north-west and in doing so provide a catalyst for future infrastructure growth in the region.

The project to be delivered by the Alliance includes:
  • construction of over three km of new railway track, and associated works, between Quakers Hill and Schofields
  • construction of a brand new Schofields station (around 800 metres from the current station) with car parking, bus facilities, easy access and pedestrian facilities; and
  • replacement of the pedestrian level crossings at Quakers Hill station to improve access across the rail track.
