Thiess Indonesia, a subsidiary of Thiess, has secured a mining contract with PT Inkor Prima Coal (IPC) at their Samboja Coal Mine, located 45 kilometres north of Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The Samboja Coal Mine is the client's first Greenfield mine site.
The works to be undertaken by Thiess Indonesia include the provision of overburden removal and mine support services. This includes clearing, stripping and removal of 120 million BCM of waste.
