The Siemens Thiess Communications Joint Venture (STCJV) worked across Australia fulfilling a range of fixed plant maintenance and telecommunications contracts for Telstra, and other clients.

Following Thiess Communications’ successful Telstra Customer Access Network contracts of 1999/2000, the joint venture was formed in early 2000 as a response to the demand for reduced costs and greater operational flexibility in the telecommunications sector. It combined the technology strengths of Siemens with Thiess’ proven design and construction expertise.

Included within this extensive package of work was the complete DC power back-up of power supply systems for over 35,000 battery sites around the country. This involved the STCJV team undertaking routine maintenance, fault management and repairs as well as upgrades and design and construction of new sites to support the client’s growth.

STCJV was also responsible for the support all of Telstra’s projects and provides critical management and administrative back-up in all of the client’s business areas. The STCJV team was equipped to support the mobilisation of project teams to Telstra sites around Australia.
