Description:  

 Leighton was responsible for the advanced works of the new SkyPlaza development at Hong Kong International Airport.

SkyPlaza was a 60,000 square metre extension project developed by The Hong Kong Airport Authority to the existing airport terminal. This consisted of office buildings, headquarters for the Airport Authority, retail and entertainment facilities, and a covered coach terminal for transit tourists with air-conditioned lounges and airline check-in facilities.

The advance works undertaken by Leighton Asia included:
  • Site clearance and demolition of existing structures
  • Piling, for both the SkyPlaza building and new viaducts
  • Construction of diaphragm wall and bulk excavation
  • Utilities diversion and installation
  • Reprovision of transport facilities and road diversions
  • Landscaping
