Description:  

Thiess Services was awarded an electricity works contract by Western Power for the South West Interconnected System (SWIS), the biggest interconnected network in Western Australia.

Western Power is an electricity networks corporation that is owned by the WA Government. Western Power are responsible for transporting electricity from power stations to towns and cities and distributing the electricity to homes and businesses via a large network of power lines known as the SWIS. It consists of nearly 88,000km of powerlines stretching from Kalbarri in the north to Kalgoorlie in the east and south to Albany.

Under the contract, Thiess Services was responsible for the provision of works and services associated with the construction, maintenance and removal of high voltage and low voltage electrical networks.
