Sugarloaf Water Pipeline Project Alliance

Description:  

John Holland, as part of an alliance, has been awarded the contract to construct the Sugarloaf Pipeline, linking the Goulburn River near Yea to the Sugarloaf Reservoir in Melbourne’s north-east.

The alliance is made up of  Melbourne Water, John Hollland and designers Sinclair Knight Merz Pty Ltd (SKM) and GHD Pty Ltd. The alliance is responsible for planning and environmental assessments, engineering and design, commmunity and landowner consultation and project management.

The Sugarloaf Pipeline is approximately 70km long and will transfer 75 billion litres of water to Melbourne, helping to modernise the Food Bowl irrigation system and saving 225 billion litres of water each year.
