Thiess Appoints Roslyn Kelly to Board of Directors

Thiess Contractors Pty. Limited has appointed Mrs Roslyn Kelly to its Board of Directors.

Thiess Chairman, Mr. Rod Wylie, said he was delighted with the new appointment.

"Mrs Kelly’s experience in international environmental management will provide a valuable contribution to the Thiess board, " Mr Wylie said.

As Group Executive of Dames & Moore, one of the world’s largest environmental consultants, Mrs Kelly provides strategic advice to organisations on international environmental issues, particularly those relating to mining activities. The last three years has seen Mrs Kelly involved in some of the world’s largest mining projects in Australia and Asia.

Mrs Kelly’s other board commitments include a position on the Health, Safety and Environment Advisory Board of North Limited and the International Board of Normandy Minerals Ltd.

Thiess Contractors strong growth over the past two years has seen its revenue increase to over $1.2 billion, with mining and resource projects accounting for some 50 per cent of the company’s turnover.

At a recent Board meeting, Thiess Managing Director, Mr. Martin Albrecht, welcomed Mrs Kelly to the company.

"As a major stakeholder in the resources and construction industries, our responsibility to environmentally sustainable development is paramount. Mrs Kelly’s expertise will assist the Thiess Board to remain focused on the company’s commitment to environmental excellence," Mr Albrecht said.
