Project details

The six-kilometre Eastern Distributor tollroad connects the city centre with the airport, as well as providing a link between the northern and eastern suburbs. The tunnel runs from Drivers Triangle, under Taylor Square, to Cathedral Street and involved a landscaped canopy from Art Gallery Road to the east of the Gallery.

The tollroad was opened in December 1999, eight months ahead of schedule.

ACAA logo The Eastern Distributor was a 2001 Australian Construction Achievement Award (ACAA) finalist. The ACAA is the Australian construction industry's most prestigious accolade.
